Drainage Channels: MEA Solutions at a glance

Multi-Material competence for needs-based solutions

We are the specialists when it comes to draining surface water and other liquids quickly and as completely as possible from the surface into the drainage system: for the protection of people, buildings and traffic routes. Whether for road longitudinal drainage or as an architectural design element with corresponding grates: We offer an extensive range of drainage channels for all loading classes (A 15 – F 900) and drainage systems for all areas of application – also customised.

Thanks to our multi-material competence and user knowledge, we can always offer you the optimum drainage system to suit your needs: The versatile MEA portfolio includes drainage channels made of fibreglass composite, polymer concrete, concrete and steel as well as all necessary accessories and drainage elements.

Whether its GRP, Polymer Concrete or Concrete – One thing is always the same: They are solution-oriented

Depending on the intended use and application, the specific advantages of the various materials can be optimally utilized: Steel, for example, is ideally suited for facade drainage and elegant drainage channel covers. Glass-fibre reinforced composite (GRP) can be used universally and is ideal for the drainage of roads, car parks, multi-storey car parks, and similar. Drainage systems made of polymer concrete offer maximum design freedom with the highest loading classes, these drainage channels are much easier to install and transport due to their low weight compared to concrete.

Drainage channels for Cars Parks, Multi-Storey Car Parks & Underground Garages

In public places and highly frequented areas such as parking lots at or in shopping centres, it is important that drainage runs smoothly. MEA offers drainage solutions for every situation in a broad range of parking areas.

The drainage channel MEARIN PLUS F is particularly suitable for multi-storey car parks or underground garages, especially in the ramp area, due to its shallow height. The installation of this drainage channel body does not require a low installation height and thus saves costs in the planning of parking garages thanks to a lower constructive height of parking decks. Due to the GRP material properties, this drainage system will also be resistant and rust-free for years.

The MEARIN PG EVO line drainage specially developed by MEA is ideally suited for the parking garage drainage: This drainage channel offers the advantage that it can be installed in mastic asphalt (MEARIN PG EVO AS) as well as in OS coated floor (MEARIN PG EVO OS). In addition, the reinforcement and statics are not affected when the PG EVO is inserted, and its flat height makes it easy to use regardless of the previously used system.

External parking areas such as those in front of hospitals or supermarkets must be drained in a safe and environmentally friendly manner: MEARIN and MEADRAIN S line drainage solutions are used here. Our MEACLEAN PRO product series also enables a nature-friendly and decentralised drainage of rainwater, as the system filters the water of chemical and biological substances, and discharges filtered water into nature or the sewage system. The perfect solution for seepage and retention of rainwater in large areas is the new MEASTORM Rigolen tunnel system that is easy to install and maintain.

Drainage Solutions for Roads & Motorways

The drainage channel MEADRAIN DM was developed for the special requirements of the cross drainage of roads and highways developed. Due to its monolithic design it is extremely stable and maintains its form for a long time. The MEADRAIN DM channel range is complemented by the MEADRAIN EN line drainage. With loading classes up to F900, this channel system can be perfectly used in highly loaded and highly frequented areas such as service areas, car parks or technical facilities.

Race Track Drainge

In order to effectively prevent aquaplaning, the MEA range for racetracks offers drainage channels MEADRAIN DM as well as MEADRAIN EN/ENS : These high-quality gutters with loading class F 900 impress with their long service life and can drain even large amounts of precipitation quickly.

Airport Drainge (Air Side)

The most resistant drainage channels must be installed in the area of the airport: MEADRAIN EN/ENS made of polymer concrete. Ideal for heavy duty areas up to loading class F 900 this drainage channel offers a very long service life. Its lateral ribs allow it to be optimally anchored in the concrete bed. The product is frost-proof, wear-free and low maintenance.

Drainage Solutions for Ports & Container Terminals

In the spatially limited facilities where containers are handled with an integrated operational structure, the port infrastructure is extremely burdened. Only the most resistant drainage channels such as the E600 drainage channels from the line drainage series MEARIN EXPERT , MEADRAIN SV, SG, SE or if necessary F900 drainage channels like those of the line drainage MEADRAIN EN/ENS can withstand the daily and virtually uninterrupted stress resulting from the movement of thousands of containers with trucks or forklifts.

MEA offers several system solutions specially designed for these extreme loads. The quick-fixing mechanisms of the grates allow for quick and easy maintenance of the gutter lines, and thus enables the daily transit traffic without any disruptions.

Tram & Rail Drainage Channels

Cross drainage of rail systems is a fundamental requirement for the safety of tram traffic. MEA offers an innovative solution that meets the technical requirements for the installation and operation of a tramway network: MEA RAIL is the drainage solution made of polymer concrete with a cast iron frame, specially designed for the drainage of tram rails. Thanks to the modular design, a single system MEA RAIL can be used for several track widths. Our flexible and modern production allows a project-related individual production of the channel elements.

Sustainable Drainage Solutions from MEA

The “environmental” topic also has high priority at MEA, and is at the focus of all drainage solutions. With our innovative MEACLEAN drainage channel we help to remove pollutants from the groundwater through the drainage channel body. The treatment of surface water in the heavily frequented traffic areas is implemented in an environmentally friendly way with the help of MEACLEAN, through its filter system and the multi-stage substrate technology.

In recent years, precipitation levels have been increasing due to climate change, which means that in many cases water can no longer seep away naturally. Our new environmentally friendly drainage solution MEASTORM Rigolen tunnel that is designed specifically for water retention and seepage, captures, stores and disperses water that cannot be removed through seepage alone. This enables the preservation of groundwater, which can even be used at a later time.

MEA Poland, which is part of MEA WATER MANAGEMENT, has been present on the Polish market for over 20 years and offers the PuraBlue® product brand. The current range of modern linear drainage systems and basement light well systems has been extended with pre-treatment systems, including settling tanks and separators, as well as rainwater and sanitary sewage pumping stations. The offer includes retention and infiltration systems, as well as flow regulators. The current product range allows for comprehensive service of each investment – residential, office, commercial, warehouse projects, as well as large road and railway infrastructure facilities. The whole offer is complemented by automation systems and equipment service.

MEA’s PURABLUE® product brand is a range of products with a long history on the Polish market in the sewage industry and rainwater systems. This is a long-term practice in pre-treatment of rainwater, as well as in the design and construction of rainwater and sanitary sewage pumping stations or oil separators.

Based on innovation and the changing needs of the natural environment, we introduce the latest solutions to the market, being sure that we provide top-class products, as required by the environment, which we confirm with the ECO-FRIENDLY mark.

The PURABLUE® brand is based mainly on two technologies:

  • Separators and settling tanks in spin-screw technology with hydraulically optimized flow, designed to retain petroleum substances and general suspension. They are a modern, innovative, environmentally safe solution.
  • Separators and settling tanks in lamellar technology, developed over the years order to multiply the processes: flotation of petroleum substances, as well as sedimentation of suspensions – a large saving of space compared to classic devices.

Quality

MEA oil separators are based on european standard and must pass the standard test procedure as laid down in the European Standard EN 858-1 2005.

Design & Manufacturing

MEA STP Separators are designed and manufactured in few tank’s versions:

  • Carbon steel with highly resistant to corrosion coating
  • Carbon steel with spray metallization to create an effective anti-corrosion coating. The coating has a
long service life and is very difficult to force through. Reinforced plastic (GRP) to a very high specification other tank materials are also available, such as concrete, PE or stainless steel.

The most important in technology of STP separators is coalescence process, which can be achieved and multiplying thanks to our special filters.Filter cabinets in STP separators can be equipped with two types of filters, depending on the type of separator selected. The filters are easily cleaned using normal pressure water and no require replacement.

DQBLUE filters are made of PP film ensuring adequate wall stiffness, resistance to aggressive substances and resistance to temperature changes. Packets are structured so that multi-stream flow can be enforced. The walls of the cartridges are strongly corrugated, which results in a very large contact surface with the flowing light liquid – 150 [m2/m3].

The use of lamella inserts (multi-stream) reduces the flow velocity through the separator, which extends the retention time of the flowing water, which in turn intensifies the gravitational flotation process supported by the coalescence process.

BLUEclear filter mats with a special mesh-mesh structure are made of a material of high hardness, in the form of retractable cartridges, which do not absorb water, which facilitates their removal and increases their durability compared to traditional filter sponges. Very durable, with the highest cleaning efficiency, resistant to axial pressure up to 130 kN/m2.

The STP / STB separator is designed for the separation of petroleum substances as well as suspensions (integrated with the settling tank). The design of the tank in the
shape of a lying cylinder allows the separator to be used wherever shallow foundation is required.
